8 Best Public Parks You Can Jog in KL & PJ

The Klang Valley area including Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya has plenty of public parks available for sightseeing, walking and of course, jogging. The good thing about jogging in the park? It’s free and you get to enjoy fresh air, especially in the morning. So, long story short, we have compiled a list of the 8 best public parks you can jog in KL & PJ.


1) Bukit Jalil Recreational Park

Bukit Jalil Recreational Park is a popular jogging spot among many locals. And it’s easy to see why: the park spans 80 acres of different trails and terrains. There are plenty of slopes and even staircases if you love to up your jogging exercise. Best of all, the park has enough shade with trees and other greenery as you jog along the path. Good for exploring the area and if you are lucky enough, you might stumble upon a monitor lizard while some areas are dominated by monkeys. Ample parking space is available, even though it’s best that you come earlier to avoid disappointment.

2) Taman Aman Park

Taman Aman Park is conveniently located within a few walking distance from Taman Paramount LRT station. But there are some parking spaces, albeit limited near the park. There’s a jogging path that covers approximately 1 km around the lake. The trail is pretty straightforward with some corners and uphill paths along the way. After you have completed your morning jog, recharge yourself with a hearty breakfast at one of the restaurants or cafes near Taman Paramount.

3) Taman Jaya Park

Strategic location. That’s the word best describes Taman Jaya Park, which is situated near the Federal Highway and can be easily accessible via the Taman Jaya LRT station. But no worries if you come by car since there are ample parking spaces available. Come weekends, you will find plenty of locals here enjoying their morning jog. The park is typically bustling with loud music as you will come across outdoor Zumba and fitness dancing sessions. And yes, the legendary A&W restaurant is only a short walking distance away and so does the Amcorp Mall.

4) Taman Pudu Ulu

Here’s a recreational park strategically located in Cheras that spans 64 acres. You can find plenty of jogging trails here, even though the lacklustre shady trees in some areas might be a turn-off, particularly on a sweltering sunny day. Given its accessible location near Taman Maluri LRT station and the main road of Jalan Cheras, Taman Pudu Ulu is usually crowded during the weekends. And if the jogging path isn’t enough within the park, you can circle around the pavement outside.

5) Taman Tasik Permaisuri

The crowd-favourite Taman Tasik Permaisuri spans a whopping 98-plus acres with enough jogging trails to challenge your stamina. At the heart of this recreational park lies a scenic lake, where you can jog around it. In case of hot sunny weather, you can retreat to the shaded areas covered with trees to continue your jogging routine. Given its popularity, don’t be surprised to find the park is heavily occupied during the weekend.

6) Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya

The family-friendly Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya needs no introduction here, given its sprawling park site that covers seven lakes in total. It’s a jogging paradise for fitness lovers too with plenty of trails to exercise. Not to forget, the surrounding lush greenery around the park. The strategic location helps too since Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya is located beside LDP Highway. Going to Paradigm Mall, in the meantime, only takes around a 5-minute drive from the park.

7) Central Park Bandar Utama

Just next to the popular 1Utama Shopping Centre — New Wing, to be exact — lies a 10-acre neighbourhood park filled with greenery. And of course, you will find designated trails for jogging or walking. While jogging, you will come across two lakes and some essential park facilities, namely reflexology-friendly pebbles and gazebos. Central Park Bandar Utama turns out to be pet-friendly too, where you can walk your dog.

8) KLCC Park

Rounding up our list is the famous 50-acre KLCC Park located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Joggers can enjoy the majestic sights of the Petronas Twin Towers while exercising along the gorgeously landscaped park. Experience jogging around the loops, covering 1.3 km in total. Interestingly, the jogging track itself is specially blanketed with a rubberised EPDM (extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane) surface. Good for morning and even night jogs.
