Sipping a cup of Vietnamese coffee sure has more caffeine kick than your average joe. Their coffee is more robust and bolder since Vietnamese coffee is typically brewed using Robusta beans, thanks to the high caffeine profile and their distinct bitterness. Vietnamese coffee comes in different versions with common ones like coconut coffee and condensed milk coffee, which are available either hot or iced. So, here are the 7 Vietnamese coffee spots you can find in Klang Valley.

1) Kee Nguyen

I remember when I chanced upon the small shop of Kee Nguyen at TTDI during one of the weekdays. It sure looks like a favourite spot among many customers working around the area. And frankly, it’s easy to see why. Kee Nguyen’s Vietnamese coffee tastes good with a distinct caffeinated kick. It’s affordable too. Among their must-try coffees include Ca Phe Sua (Condensed Milk) and Ca Phe Dua (Iced Coconut Coffee). To date, Kee Nguyen currently runs 52 outlets in Malaysia.

2) The Nguyen’s Brew

Somewhere across Melawati Mall lies a little coffee shop called The Nguyen’s Brew. The shop specialises in premium Vietnamese coffee and the best thing about them? Their coffee is dripped on a daily basis to ensure freshness at all times. Available in regular and large cups, try some of their best-selling drinks, namely the Condensed Milk Coffee and Ho Chi Minh (coffee, sweetener & milk). Alternatively, go for the santan-richness of Coconut Coffee or the tangy bittersweet Yogurt Coffee.

3) VNKopi Vietnam Coffee

Here’s a little shop with bright yellow signage that focuses solely on Vietnamese coffee. Choices are limited but sufficient enough if you are here for something rich, authentic and inexpensive. Some of the popular options include Viet Coffee (coffee & condensed milk), Iced Viet Latte and Iced Viet Coconut. VNKopi Vietnam Coffee also offers bottled coffee varieties for their selected menu — perfect for those who prefer the convenience of enjoying their coffee anytime, anywhere. Do keep in mind that VNKopi Vietnam Coffee doesn’t open on weekends.

4) Kopi Saigon

Kopi Saigon combines the caffeinated goodness of Vietnamese coffee with different flavours in every cup. For instance, try the sweet and buttery Kopi Karamel (coffee, full cream milk, caramel & cream) and the chocolate-y Kopi Nutella (coffee, full cream milk, Nutella & cream). But if you prefer something simple and traditional, you can’t go wrong with the creaminess of Kopi Saigon or Kopi Latte. They use only premium and high-quality Robusta coffee beans and brew them traditionally using the dripping method through a phin filter.
