Marking the end of Ramadan is the festival of Eid, which is known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri. While the Chinese give out Ang Paos during Chinese New Year, our Muslims friends will give out ‘Green Envelopes’ (sampul hijau or sampul duit raya) during this festive season. Green colour was chosen because of its association with the Islamic paradise.
